Part-Day Program:
Part Day programs operate 3 1/2 hours per day, 4 days per week, from September-June. There are morning and afternoon classes. Most part day programs provide 4K in conjunction with the local school district. Teachers and Family Outreach Workers meet with families 3 times per year to discuss child progress and work on family goals.

Full Day Program:
Full Day Head Start programs support families with children 3-5 years with high-quality child care and family services. Children receive all the benefits of Head Start and care in the same classroom. Families must have a child care subsidy or city funding to participate and must be working or participating in an employability or job-search program. There is usually a parent share (co-pay) which Head Start pays 45%. Our 5-Star centers are licensed from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. and open 5 days per week, 12 months of the year. Teachers and Family Outreach Workers meet with families quarterly to discuss child progress and work on family goals.

Extended Day Program:
Extended day classrooms operate 7 hours per day, 4 days per week, from September-June. Most provide 4K in conjunction wih the local school district.
- Health Services: Linking families to a medical home, ensuring all children receive developmental, sensory & behavior screening, ensuring all children receive well child physical examinations, establish an ongoing source of oral health care & education about all areas of health.
- Nutrition Services: Assessment, education, and connection to food assistance programs in the community. Nutritious meals served in our center-based programs.
- Mental Health Services: Ensure children & families have access to prevention & intervention services.
- Services for Children With Disabilities: Reach Dane partners with local early intervention programs to serve infants and toddlers with disabilities.
- Family Fun Events: Meal, transportation, and parent/child activity
- Family Engagement: Supporting families to be safe, healthy, and financially secure. Home visits & Family Partnership Agreements are part of this process.
- Transportation is available within a specific service area
- Extended Day Programs: Packers, East, Union Corners, Stoughton, and South Madison
Home Based:
- Home Visitation Teachers meet with families weekly in their homes for 90 minutes. They provide weekly parent/child activities to help foster child development and support parents as primary teachers. Some home-based programs also cluster twice-per month providing the children with a part-day pre-school experience. Other home-based programs offer socialization with parent and child activities twice per month. Home-based programs focus on serving 3-year-old children. In some circumstances, 4-year-old children may be served in a home-based program if there is a need.
- Home-based Head Start is offered in Monroe and Madison.
